This is a rare and historic group belonging to Wilhelm Werner, Operational Chief of Staff "Ia" in Panzer Division Hermann Göring. Recipient of Deutsches Kreuz im Gold, Spanienkreuz im Gold, Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, Eisernes kreuz 1. Klasse, and more!
Both the Spanien Kreuz im Gold and Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse are "engraved" with his name.

How did Wilhelm Werner become the "Ia" in Division Hermann Göring, right below the General of the division.
Wilhelm Werner starts his carrerer in Landespolizei Nurnberg in 1933.
In 1935 he enters the Luftwaffe and is assigned to a Flak unit.
In 1936 he is sent to Spain, as a part of the Legion Condor. - For his efforts in Spain, he receives the Spanienkreuz (One of ONLY 1126 recipients of the Spanienkruez im Gold) and the Eisernes Kreuz.
In 1941 he enters a Generalstab (General Staff) for the first time, and soon after are assigned to several Luftwaffe divisions, as member of the Generalstab, and is several times appointed "Ia" (Operational Chief of Staff).
In 1942 he's assigned to Division Hermann Göring, and soon after also "Ia" (Operational Chief of Staff), and right below the general in Division Hermann Göring.
In Tunesia he is captured, but escapes the POW-camp, returning to Division Hermann Göring, and joins the Generalstab again as "Ia", but in the Panzer Division Hermann Göring.
